Meet Ms. Ashley
Owner & Teacher
Hi, I'm Ms. Ashley! I am a wife, mom of four, the proud founder of The Treasure Chest Learning Academy, and someone who has always found joy in working with children. Helping children grow, explore, and thrive is truly my happy place!

Opening my own preschool has been a lifelong dream. At The Treasure Chest Learning Academy, I combine years of experience, a passion for childhood development, and a heart full of love to create a warm, fun, and nurturing environment. This is more than a preschool, it’s a place where your child will feel treasured, grow confidently, and discover the joy of learning.

I truly believe that children are our true treasures, and I’m honored to be a part of helping them unlock their full potential. I can't wait to welcome your little one into our preschool family.
My Journey of Starting The TCLA

Welcome to THE TREASURE CHEST LEARNING ACADEMY, where children are the true treasures, and learning unlocks their potential. I’m thrilled you’ve found us!

There are three treasured titles I have always dreamed of holding: wife, mom, and teacher. I cherish each of these roles. I have an amazing husband, four incredible children, and having taught preschool earlier in my life, I’ve long dreamed of running my own preschool and becoming “Ms. Ashley” once again.

At the beginning of 2025, I felt the strongest impression to make this dream a reality. With the wise encouragement of my 8-year-old daughter, I knew it was time to take this next step and embrace the role of “teacher” once more. As I took the necessary steps, I could clearly see this is my next step in life.

As word began to spread about my home-based preschool, a childhood friend reminded me how, at just five years old, she loved coming to my house to “play preschool” with my dolls as our students.

My love for kids and teaching has been a guiding force in my life. I started babysitting for a family friend at the age of 7. Yes, 7! I would play with the kids and bring fun activities so their mom could get things done around the house. That love for babysitting continued throughout high school and into college, as families knew and trusted me. I even had an “Ashley’s Babysitting Box” filled with crafts, books, games, and activities, which would accompany me.

As I got older, I volunteered in elementary and special education classrooms, participated in child development classes, and taught at my high school preschool. I began collecting children’s books, teaching supplies, papers, and activity ideas. Eventually, doors opened for me to become a preschool teacher. I taught many children for several years, and I’ve always treasured that time.

Life moved forward, and I attended college with the goal of becoming an early education teacher. I served a Spanish-speaking mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kentucky, where I had more opportunities to teach and connect with others. After my mission, I was accepted into the Early Childhood Education program at the University of Utah, where I loved learning and loved creating lesson plans for young children once again. With four children of my own, I’ve loved teaching them, I loved volunteering in their classrooms, helping with the PTA, and spending countless hours surrounded by students. I cherishing their excitement for learning and love my time in a classroom environment.

Though the seasons of life have changed, the dream of having my own preschool never left me. I had incredible jobs working in business and finance for many years while helping businesses grow. I am grateful for who I have worked with and what I have learned along the way. The skills I have learned and the confidence I have gained have brought me full circle back to the dream of starting my own preschool.
Throughout life, I have been continually reminded of my love for children and teaching of all kinds. Whether it’s teaching my own children, teaching Primary children at church, volunteering at school, training new employees, encouraging women, having neighborhood kids show up to play, or cheering for and playing with kids on the sideline of a soccer game. Children and teaching bring me pure joy. I have a deep love for them and can see the potential of who they are becoming. They truly are treasures!

So, what will we do in class?
Oh, we’re going to have the best time! We'll sing, dance, learn our letters and sounds, explore numbers and counting, read books, color, paint, create, play, use our hands to explore, and experiment as we learn about ourselves and the world around us. We’ll make wonderful friendships and discover what each child treasures most in their young life. The experiences we share will become stepping stones to something greater as they grow and reach their full potential.

Our preschool room is our happy place, and the memories we create together as a preschool family will surely become treasured moments.

So once again, welcome to THE TREASURE CHEST LEARNING ACADEMY, where your children are the true treasures, and learning unlocks their potential. I am grateful I get to be a part of their journey as I share these special moments with them.

Love,
Ms. Ashley
